The 24-inch telescope of the Astronomical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences at the Skalnaté pleso Observatory

The telescope contains a 24"-diameter parabolic mirror. The focal length is 255 cm and the optical speed 1:4.2. In the Newton-focus there is an ST-8 CCD camera. The telescope is mounted on a Zeiss 6 parallactical mounting.

It was installed in December 2000.

The telescope is used for scientific programmes, mostly for the photometry and polarimetry of asteroids and comets.
